After initial speculation about a cancellation, followed by rumors of a release in early 2027, the RTX 50 SUPER series is back in the news, this time for a potential new delay.
According to the website VideoCardz, at least one of NVIDIAโs partners reportedly has these much-anticipated new graphics cards in stock. Everything is reportedly ready, but the American company has decided to suspend distribution until further notice.
The price of 3 GB GDDR7 memory components is reportedly to blame. A 3 GB GDDR7 chip currently costs between $60 and $70, compared to $20 for the 2 GB model. With a price three times higher, these 3 GB chips would drive up the production cost by several hundred dollars for a GPU equipped with six to eight modules.
Finally, the RTX 50 SUPER series is expected to include three models: the GeForce RTX 5080 SUPER, RTX 5070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 5070 SUPER. The GeForce RTX 5050 9 GB is also reportedly on hold.
