This few past months, there have been rumors aplenty about the PS6 on the internet. Sony’s future console could feature a portable design, a removable disc drive, and even better ray tracing.
As for the launch date, uncertainty still reigns. This week, insider Kepler stated on NeoGAF that Sony plans to release its PlayStation 6 in 2027. Of course, “unexpected delays” could cause the console’s release to be postponed.
If this rumor proves to be true, the PS5 will have enjoyed a life cycle of around seven years before its replacement arrives on the scene. This seems fairly consistent, as seven years also separated the PS4 and PS5.
