With reviews now live for The Outer Worlds 2, Obsidian Entertainment begins the slow but steady march towards release. A new launch trailer is available, outlining life in the Arcadia system and asking the most important question: Whether you’ll be a hero, betray your values or do something else entirely.
Regardless of your path, getting there is an entirely different story. As an agent of the Earth Directorate, it’s your job to investigate mysterious rifts that have emerged throughout the universe. The task puts you at odds with three factions – Auntie’s Choice, the Order of the Ascendancy and the Protectorate – each with its own goals (and reasons not to like each other).
The choice is yours to cozy up with one or annoy them all, and going about that task could involve stealth, going guns-blazing, diplomacy or a mix of the three. This is possible thanks to overhauled Skills, 90+ Perks, a new cast of companions, and a wide range of weaponry.
The Outer Worlds 2 launches on October 29th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC alongside Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Check out our review here.

Exciting times for fans of The Outer Worlds! The launch trailer looks promising, and it’s great to see the reviews coming in. Obsidian really knows how to create engaging stories and characters. Looking forward to seeing how this sequel unfolds!
Absolutely, the launch trailer really showcases the unique humor and vibrant world that fans loved in the first game. It’s interesting to see how they’re expanding on player choice this time around; it could lead to some unexpected storylines!
I completely agree! The humor definitely sets it apart from other RPGs. Plus, I’m excited to see how the choices we make will impact the story in even more ways this time around. It seems like they’re really leaning into player agency.
