Return to Silent Hill is set to hit European theaters on February 4, and is already getting unanimous criticism. The feature film directed by Christophe Gans has received extremely poor reviews from film critics.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the adaptation currently has an average rating of 6% based on 17 reviews. More reviews will be added over the coming days, but these initial reactions are completely damning for the film. It has been described as “very disappointing” and “lacking in surprises, thrills, or palpable scares”. Return to Silent Hill is generally criticized for offering nothing new or interesting compared to the video game Silent Hill 2 on which it is based.
This makes it the worst feature film of the three released since 2006.

audience despite the criticism. It’s interesting to note how some films can eventually gain a following after their release, even if the initial response is poor. Sometimes, it’s the fans that truly shape a movie’s legacy over time.
