The Mighty Nein understands magic better than most D&D players

Anyone who’s watched Critical Role’s animated fantasy adventure The Legend of Vox Machina knows that the magic within the show doesn’t linger on letting the audience know how or why it works. For a show based on Dungeons & Dragons, a game well-known for its rules and mechanics, Vox Machina decides to skip on the details, to focus instead on how each character’s personality is reflected in their spells. The most obvious example is Scanlan, but there’s plenty of personality in Keyleth and Pike’s magic too.
