
After years of rumors, the film adaptation of Metal Gear Solid has finally been confimed. The Hollywood Reporter has released the first details about such an anticipated project.
The film will be directed by the duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, known for their work on the Final Destination franchise. Production is being handled by Columbia Pictures, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures. Executive production is being led by Avi Arad and his son Ari Arad.
Sanford Panitch, president of Sony Pictures’ motion picture division, issued a brief statement.
“Zach and Adam are thrilling storytellers, masters of visuals and suspense, and two of the most impressive director/producers working today. With projects across all the company’s film labels, we are so happy to create a home for them, and proud to have them as part of the Sony family.”
Metal Gear Solid has no release date as of now.
