The Mario 3 movie could be released in 2029

Following the success of the first two films, Mario will, of course, be returning to the big screen soon. While no third film has been announced yet, the post-credits scenes in Mario Galaxy leave no room for doubt.

In an interview with ScreenRant, actor Keegan-Michael Key, who voices Toad in the original version, indicated that the team wants to take its time with the release of Mario 3. He also mentioned a release date set for 2029.

“We want to get it right. We want to get everything right. We want to get all the details right. And Michael and Aaron, who are our directors, have a real passion for this. I think they’re as passionate about these projects as the audience is. And so we got to get it right, we got to get it right. So I apologize. But it’ll be worth the wait. It’ll be worth the wait…’29 is better than sometime, right?”

Of course, only Universal and Nintendo can confirm this information. The actor may not be aware of the schedule decided by the producers.
