The Legend of Zelda movie is currently in production

Although the live-action feature film The Legend of Zelda won’t be released until May 2027, things have clearly picked up speed on the project in recent days.

The website ProductionList has reported that the film officially entered production on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in Wellington, New Zealand. This normally means that filming has begun. Production is scheduled to last until April 7, 2026.

The Wellington studios are highly regarded in the film industry, having hosted renowned names such as the Avatar, Lord of the Rings, and King Kong.
