The hackers are threatening Rockstar Games with releasing the stolen data

Last week, a hacker group called ShinyHunters claimed to have obtained financial data belonging to Rockstar Games. The hackers had given the company until April 14 to contact them.

However, the hackers ultimately stated that “since their demands have not been met”, they will soon publish the stolen data. Rockstar had asserted in a statement that this incident had no impact on the organization or players.

The BBC, which managed to contact the perpetrators, also reports that the cybercriminal group consists of English-speaking teenagers. It remains to be seen whether they will carry out their threats. The data reportedly contains details on player spending, marketing schedules, and contracts with Rockstar’s partners.
