Following a highly successful launch with over 4 million copies sold, Subnautica 2 will need to refine and expand its content. To that end, a first major update is already planned.
Before this patch is released, Unknown Worlds plans to introduce several improvements, such as a proximity chat, emotes, and additional customization options. Players will also be able to replay voice recordings. Easier access to more biomods is also on the agenda.
As for the free 1.1 update, it will offer more substantial additions. We’re talking about content focused on story and progression. A new region to explore will debut alongside a brand-new vehicle, creatures, and additional resources. A fearsome Leviathan will inhabit this area.
A preview of these elements was provided via the developers’ new vlog.

This update for Subnautica 2 sounds exciting! It’s great to see such a successful game getting more content. Looking forward to diving back in and exploring what’s new!
