The Elder Scrolls 6 Can Wait, This New RPG Will Fill The Gap

The Elder Scrolls 6 Can Wait, This New RPG Will Fill The Gap

The Elder Scrolls VI can wait because this brand new RPG will more than help fill that void, and then some.

Announced during E3 2018, at a show so long ago that it doesn’t even exist anymore. It’s been well over seven years since The Elder Scrolls VI was announced, and we still have no clue as to when it’s going to be released.

At this point, the release of The Elder Scrolls VI is probably going to be closer to a decade from when Bethesda first announced the game.

Thankfully, at least, there are loads of fantastic fantasy RPGs that will keep us busy, hopefully, at least until The Elder Scrolls VI joins the party.

RPGs such as Baldur’s Gate 3, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Elden Ring should all provide enough entertainment for the coming years.

Regardless, it will be nice to know when the Bethesda RPG might be released, but until then, this other upcoming RPG could be the best The Elder Scrolls VI game not to be called The Elder Scrolls VI.

The game in question is called Fatekeeper, developed by Paraglacial and published by THQ Nordic.

“Venture into a handcrafted world where ruins whisper of past cataclysms,” reads the description of Fatekeeper on Steam. “Master the art of sword and sorcery and forge your path with relics, spells and choices that shape who you become in this first-person RPG.”

I’m not only blown away by its visual splendour, but also its gameplay, which looks to be a blend of Skyrim and Elden Ring. However, commenters on YouTube say that Fatekeeper resembles another RPG.

“The combat and creature design have piqued my interest,” said LoopyLongplays, in the comments section on YouTube.

“THQ Nordic is absolutely cooking right now,” replied dunkelwalde695.

“DARK MESSIAH VIBES HERE, LET’S GOOOO!! Yelled MMOit.

The only problem, for me at least, is that Fatekeeper has only been announced for PC with no mention of a console release at the time of writing.

Fatekeeper does not have a release date just yet, but you can add the game to your Steam wishlist to be notified when it’s ready to launch. It’s also probably safe to assume that it will launch before The Elder Scrolls VI.
