The Elder Scrolls 6 Biggest Rival Looks Absolutely Staggering

The Elder Scrolls VI finally has some competition on its hands in the form of a new Steam game.

Bethesda has kept us waiting long enough for The Elder Scrolls VI in my opinion, but I do somewhat respect the studio for its radio silence on the project. While it’s infuriating to have not received any gameplay footage or even an in-game screenshot it does help control hype, so we don’t end up with another Cyberpunk 2077 on our hands.

That said I’m sure when even the slightest glimpse at The Elder Scrolls VI drops gamers will go feral, but in the meantime you should check out The Wayward Realms on Steam…

The Wayward Realms is an upcoming open-world adventure game developed by some of the talented individuals who brought you the first Elder Scrolls game.

Its description reads: “Under the direction of Ted Peterson and Julian LeFay, lead developers of the team behind the original Elder Scrolls, Arena and Daggerfall, OnceLost Games is creating a new open-world fantasy RPG where choice and consequence are experienced on a scale never attempted before.”

Please take a look at the gameplay trailer for this one and the accompanied screenshots, as it needs to be seen to be truly believed.

It looks magnificent and you showed me this and told me it was leaked gameplay from The Elder Scrolls VI, I might just believe you.

I’m a big fan of the monsters in this one as their designs are fantastic, especially the weird gremlin-looking thing with too many teeth.

Genuinely the game is quite a sight and the only criticism I have at the moment is the gameplay looks a tad slow. That said it feels like it’s trying to replicate that old-school RPG vibe so perhaps it was intentional.

While I’d need to see The Elder Scrolls VI to make a decision, right now I think The Wayward Realms could easily compete with Bethesda’s next game, but I’ll hold off judgement until I’ve seen both games.

Much like Bethesda’s work however the studio behind this game don’t want to give away a release date just yet.

Even the planned release year hasn’t been shared so it’s anyone’s guess when we’ll be able to play it ourselves.

That said I’m hoping the developers take their time with this one because if they play their cards right this could be something truly special.
