We still don’t know the exact release date for Halo: Campaign Evolved, which is set to launch later this year on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. In the meantime, a rumor has surfaced that sheds more light on the development of this remake of the first game.
According to insider Reb’s Gaming, Halo Studios isn’t at the heart of this installment’s development. The studio has relied heavily on outsourcing to bring the project to life.
“A lot of outsourcing was used to create Campaign Evolved, even for core programming and design, so much so that it’s not really an in-studio project.”
For example, we know that Abstraction, a subsidiary of Virtuos, was involved in Halo: Campaign Evolved for level design and technical design. Thanks to this approach, we can assume that Halo Studios was able to focus on producing the actual new Halo.
