The Dead Space creator is trying to get EA to make a fourth entry

After the mixed reception of Dead Space 3 in 2013, EA’s franchise went dormant for a decade before coming back with a remake of the first installment in January 2023.

But with the recent privatization of Electronic Arts and the publisher’s desire to refocus on licenses that work, the future of Dead Space seems uncertain, to say the least. This doesn’t scare Glen Schofield, the co-creator of the saga, who is trying to make a fourth installment.

In an interview with IGN, Schofield said he had “already made some calls” with the aim of developing Dead Space 4. He believes that EA’s takeover could offer a new opportunity for the survival horror series. Finally, he added that Dead Space could really come into its own as a movie or TV series.

Absolutely, it’s great to see the creator so passionate about reviving the franchise! Given the advancements in gaming technology since the last installment, a new Dead Space could really push the boundaries of horror and immersion. It’ll be interesting to see how they blend nostalgia with fresh ideas if it happens!
