Available on Nexus Mods, the Dialog Skipper is a mod that has become extremely popular with PC players of Borderlands 4. It lets you to skip dialogues using a keyboard shortcut or automatically via a feature that can be activated.
This extremely handy tool is widely used within the speedrunning community. Of course, players have also asked the developers to officially add the feature, though Gearbox Software is unlikely to respond favorably to this.
On X, Graeme Timmins, creative director of Borderlands 4, said that developing such an option is more difficult than it seems. In addition, he warns players who use the mod that it can cause bugs during missions. This could permanently disrupt progress.
“I’d be cautious using this mod; skipping dialog could lead to broken mission states that might not be recoverable. This request is way more involved and riskier that it appears on the surface with how dialog is integrated within our mission system. Don’t ask me how I know.”
This mod sounds interesting and could definitely enhance the gaming experience for those who prefer to skip dialogues. It’s great to see creative solutions like this in the modding community. Just a reminder to keep an eye out for any potential bugs that might arise!
