The beta por Pillars of Eternity’s turn-based mode begins on November 5

The first Pillars of Eternity is about to welcome a notable new feature for fans of Obsidian’s RPG, which came out back in March 2015.

It will feature a turn-based mode in beta for Steam and Xbox PC starting November 5, 2025. Those who enjoyed this mode in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire will feel right at home. However, there will be some changes and improvements.

For example, the pace of combat will be faster, and it will be possible to switch from real-time to turn-based mode at any time through the options menu. In addition, changing weapons, drinking potions, and activating options are now free actions (though limited to one per turn).

The developers warn that there may be some bugs during the beta.
