The Among Us Animated Show Is Out Right Now

Game Informer News

Summer Game Fest is always full of surprises, with game reveals, new trailers, and even the occasional shadow drop – when a game is released by surprise that very day. Today, we got a close example of that, only it wasn’t for a video game, and the news leaked a little early. Either way, the Among Us animated series is out right now on Paramount+, and you can watch the trailer below.

The news was delivered on stage at SGF by actors Yvette Nicole Brown and Liv Hewson, who play Orange and Black, respectively. Like the game, the show follows a spaceship full of crewmates (each named after the color of their suit) as they’re hunted by a shapeshifting imposter. Here’s the show’s full cast:

  • Orange: Yvette Nicole Brown
  • Cyan: Kimiko Glenn
  • Black: Liv Hewson
  • Purple: Ashley Johnson
  • Lime: Wayne Knight
  • Brown: Phil Lamarr
  • Red: Randall Park
  • Blue: Dan Stevens
  • Yellow: Debra Wilson
  • Green: Elijah Wood
  • White: Patton Oswalt

The show was created by Owen Dennis, who’s best known for his work as the creator of Infinity Train, and produced by CBS Studios and Innersloth, the developer of the video game it’s based on.

CBS was kind enough to send along screeners in advance, so I’ve actually seen the full show already, and you can expect a review from us soon. Among Us is a mix between a comedy and a murder mystery, and while there are plenty of references to the game, you don’t have to have played to follow along. Also, kids will appreciate the animation style and humor, but it’s definitely written for a more PG-13 audience, with light swearing and some mild, cartoon, crewmate-based gore.
