It’s easily forgotten that The Game Awards 2025 won’t exclusively reward games made in 2025 — or shouldn’t, anyway. With the awards ceremony taking place in early December, and the nominations and voting process happening across November each year, there’s a cutoff date for eligibility, typically in the second half of November. In 2024, no games released after Friday Nov. 22 were eligible for consideration.
