Announced in September 2024, TANUKI: Pon’s Summer was due to be released later this year on Xbox, Switch and PC. Unfortunately, the cute postman has fallen behind schedule with his deliveries.
The Denkiworks studio has therefore confirmed that its game will finally be released in 2026. No specific date has been given at this time.
“The game’s release window is moved to 2026, with a more precise date to be announced later. We’re sorry to those who may be disappointed, and looking forward to playing Pon’s adventure soon. Delaying a game is never easy, but we’re confident that some extra development time will be put to good use.”
Thanks to feedback gathered via the demo, the developers have decided to improve navigation by making it easier for players to find their way around the map. Objective markers will also be included and additional activities will be introduced. Finally, a new island to explore will be added.

It’s always disappointing to hear about delays, but it sounds like the team is taking the time to ensure a great experience with TANUKI: Pon’s Summer. Looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us in 2026!
