Sword of the Sea wins the 2026 Grammy for Best Music for a Video Game

The 2026 Grammy Awards have announced their winners, and a video game has taken the price home. The winner is Sword of the Sea, which was released on PS5 and PC last August.

Developed by Giant Squid, this title features a superb soundtrack composed by Austin Wintory, who won the Grammy for “Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media”.

Sword of the Sea was nominated alongside Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Helldivers 2, Star Wars Outlaws: Wild Card & A Pirate’s Fortune, and Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle. It succeeds Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord, which won last year.
