Sucker Punch has already stopped doing new content for Ghost of Yōtei’s multiplayer

Released on March 10, five months after the single-player game, the multiplayer mode for Ghost of Yōtei already seems to have reached the end of its run.

As a result, the Ghost of Yōtei Legends mode will no longer receive new content. The “raids” released in April were the final new content for Legends. Lead designer Darren Bridges announced the news on the PlayStation Blog.

“The Raid update was our last major planned update for Legends. It finishes the story of the Yōtei Six in that mode. We’ve loved to see players playing it, continue to play it and enjoy it. It’s been great.”

For now, the servers remain open, and fixes may be implemented via future patches.

It’s interesting to see how quickly Sucker Punch has shifted focus from Ghost of Yōtei’s multiplayer. Fans will likely have mixed feelings about the decision, but it’s exciting to think about what they might be working on next.

Absolutely, it’s quite surprising! It seems like they want to concentrate their efforts on enhancing the single-player experience, which many players really appreciate. It’ll be interesting to see if they incorporate any feedback from the multiplayer mode into future projects.
