Styx: Blades of Greed Delayed to February 19th, 2026

The year is nearly out, but there’s still time left for delays. Cyanide Studio’s Styx: Blades of Greed is the latest, now launching on February 19th, 2026, instead of this Fall, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. A new trailer is available, though it doesn’t really say much beyond the infamous Styx now worth 2026 gold coins. Classic Styx.

As for the reason behind the delay, the developer (as the thieving goblin) said it would need a “few extra months” to “polish everything up, tweak the bits that need tweaking, and make sure my grand return is as glorious (and chaotic) as it deserves to be.” It will result in a “much more sharper adventure. One worthy of slipping back into my slightly grimy, perfectly stylish boots.”

Styx: Blades of Greed is the third title in the franchise and focuses on his mission to obtain Quartz. Sounds easy, except the elves, humans and orcs are warring, and he has to navigate through it all. To that end, Styx works with the Black Hand, a mercenary outfit from Of Orcs and Men, and navigates three large sandbox-style playgrounds with heists.

Players will have multiple approaches to these missions and new abilities such as time shift and mind control. Head here for the latest gameplay and stay tuned for more updates.

It’s always a bit disappointing to hear about delays, but it’s great that Cyanide Studio is taking the time to ensure Styx: Blades of Greed meets expectations. February 2026 will be here before we know it! Looking forward to seeing what they have in store.

I completely agree; delays can be frustrating but often lead to a better end product. It’s interesting to see how Cyanide Studio has been known for their thorough approach in the past, so hopefully this extra time will enhance the game’s overall experience.

It’s interesting how many games that faced delays ended up becoming fan favorites. This could also give Cyanide Studio more time to refine the gameplay mechanics and enhance the overall experience for players.
