Stunning The Last of Us Inspired Adventure Game Really Needs Your Help

The Last of Us fans will want to check out this stunning new adventure game, but it needs your help to get its proverbial feet off the ground.

The moment that I played The Last of Us demo in 2013, which was included with God of War: Ascension, I knew that I had just sampled a potential all-time great.

When the full game arrived not long after, millions of other gamers across the world were proven right with one of Naughty Dog’s finest pieces of work alongside the likes of Uncharted and Crash Bandicoot.

In The Last of Us, Joel Miller, a once-loving family man, was later shaped by tragic loss and the cordyceps virus that plagued our world, which nearly brought the extinction of humankind. Then a young girl, Ellie, comes into his life, and a reluctant Joel would soon remember what it was like to be a father.

The success of The Last of Us would result in a critically acclaimed sequel, followed by an HBO live-action series, which had a more mixed reception. Now, fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of both The Last of Us Part III and season three of the HBO series.

That being said, before either of those third outings arrives, there’s a good chance that this indie game that came out of nowhere might be worth adding to your radar. It’s not only inspired by The Last of Us but also 2014’s This War of Mine and 2016’s INSIDE.

Fatherhood Looks Like it Could Break Our Hearts!

The indie game in question is called Fatherhood, developed by the Polish studio Persis Play, and it’s launching its Kickstarter campaign soon.

“Fatherhood offers an atmospheric, war adventure experience that lets you see wars from the perspective of innocent people. Telling the tale of Basir’s sacrifice, Fatherhood presents players with the hardest dilemmas of an ongoing catastrophe called war in the Middle East,” reads the description of the game.

“After the outbreak of war, Basir and his young daughter Asma, who lost her sight in an explosion, are searching for a safe place to take refuge. However, they must navigate areas patrolled by armed soldiers, with no stores available to purchase water and medicine from. At times, they confront the game’s central dilemma: balancing the preservation of their humanity with ensuring their safety.”

Fatherhood does not have a release date at the time of writing. But you can follow it on Kickstarter to be notified when that campaign launches, as well as add it to your Steam wishlist.
