As we get closer to the August 3rd release of Street Fighter 6โs next character, Yasmine, developer Capcom has released a new trailer showcasing how she plays and details her various normal and super moves. The trailer comes in at six and a half minutes in length, and you can check it out below.
Capcom describes Yasmine as being a fighter with an arsenal of various techniques that help her close the distance with her opponents. Her rushdown-oriented moves include gliding across the ground or zipping through the air to ensure that she constantly applies pressure over the course of a match.
Yasmine has two distinct modes that she can switch between by landing specific attacks. One, dubbed Bayani mode, powers up her karambit knife, dubbed Alon, which in turn allows the character to deal even more damage with her various combos. One of her bread-and-butter moves that can be used to extend normal combos is Daloy ng Tubig, which can act as a quick finisher and kick off Bayani Mode, which is signified by the knife glowing blue.
The overdrive version of Daloy ng Tubig has the added benefit of extra damage while still being as fast as its light version. Its power-up for Alon gives it more slicing attacks. The Overdrive version can also be canceled into a Super Art for extended combos and more damage.
Talim ng Hangin is a forward-sweeping knife attack that helps in closing the gap with an opponent while also keeping them on their toes about whether to block or not, since it can be canceled before the move goes through. This opens up plenty of options for mind games between players during intense matches. Like Daloy ng Tubig, Talim ng Hangin also kicks off Bayani mode.
Her core aerial attack โ the Mukha ng Langit โ is a leap that can be followed up with a variety of moves. Depending on player positioning, it can also be used for cross-up attacks to confuse your opponent. Similarly, Lipad ng Agila works as her core anti-air. An Overdrive version is also available that can power through incoming attacks.
When dealing with opponents that like to keep some distance from Yasmine, the new character can use Pangil sa Likuran, which throws her knife at the enemy before it loops back around like a boomerang. Interestingly, it has the potential to hit the opponent twice, depending on how far away they are. Getting hit when the knife is out unfortunately cancels the entire attack.
When itโs time to use the Super meter, Yasmine has access to Hiwa ng Kalangitan, which kicks the opponent into the air before slamming them back down. Its startup animation has invincibility, which also makes it a great way to counter extra pressure. Nakatagong Lakas, on the other hand, allows Yasmine to stay in Bayani mode for an extended period of time, empowering her combos.
Finally, Yasmine has Pamumukadkad ng Sampaguita โ her level 3 Super Art that can deal massive damage. While itโs ideal as a combo ender, its startup invincibility also makes it a great tool when youโre on the defensive.
Street Fighter 6 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Yasmine is part of the titleโs new Year 4 season.
