The second-to-last announcement at Summer Game Fest 2026 was a fitting one as Capcom revealed Street Fighter 6‘s Year 4 DLC characters: Yasmine (new), Arjun (new), Bosch (SF6), and Final Fantasy VII‘s very own Tifa.
When is Tifa coming to Street Fighter 6?
Tifa was a fun surprise for both Street Fighter and Final Fantasy fans, and she’s actually not going to be the last DLC character to close out Year 4.
Yasmine will be the first to release in Year 4 on August 3, 2026, followed by Arjun in Autumn 2026 as Year 4’s new characters lead the new year. Tifa is next, planned to release in early 2027, and then Bosch, the player’s rival from SF6‘s World Tour mode, which officially joins the cast in Spring 2027, closing out Year 4.
We also found out that Yasmine is actually a Filipino in the Philippines who wields a crescent-shaped karambit knife, meaning we officially have Filipino represenation on both Street Fighter and even in Tekken thanks to Tekken 7’s Josie Rizal.
On Tifa specifically, Capcom and Square Enix directors took the stage together after the trailer to share more details. Everything from her design to her movement has been rebuilt as “Tifa the Street Fighter,” with Materia reimagined as a full gameplay system. They teased that Tifa will have a unique system that involves Materia. This marks Tifa’s second-ever appearance in a fighting game, as she was a playable character in Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring back in 1998.
Year 4 Character and Ultimate Passes are now available for pre-order on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Capcom had a lot to show in this year’s Summer Game Fest, also revealing Resident Evil Veronica, and the major expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds.
