Stellar Blade Sequel Announced, Gooner Hit Returns With New Protagonist

Stellar Blade certainly generated some conversation when the action-adventure title landed on PC and PlayStation 5 in 2024.

Developed by Shift Up, there was a lot to like about Stellar Blade‘s gameplay. However, it was the protagonist Eve who took the spotlight.

Why? Well, Eve boasted a rather large and prominent behind with enough scantily-clad outfits to always ensure it was on show.

It became quite the hit with gooners as Eve slid down ladders with a suggestive finesse.

Well, those who enjoyed the title – whether that be for the gameplay or Eve’s backside – will be pleased to know that Stellar Blade 2 is on the way, as revealed at today’s Summer Game Fest.

It’s actually called Stellar Blade: Blood Rain and this time around, you’ll be playing as a new protagonist by the name of Evie who’s outfit was slightly more covered, although it’s clear that Shift Up’s devs haven’t shied away from their love of backsides.

Check Out The Trailer For Stellar Blade: Blood Rain Below

In the trailer, which mixed cinematics with raw gameplay, we see Evie stalking a target before all hell breaks loose and the game’s action gets truly underway.

While the game introduces a new protagonist, it’s very much a traditional sequel, picking up where the previous entry left off.

It’s a pretty brief snippet but it’s impressive that Shift Up already have this much to show considering Stellar Blade only launched two years ago.

Unfortunately, there was no release window attached to the trailer, nor do we know what platforms it’s coming to. It’s perhaps safe to assume that it’ll arrive on PlayStation 5 and PC again, but we don’t have confirmation.

The game was described as being in “early” development, so it’s perhaps unlikely we’ll see Stellar Blade: Blood Rain land in the next couple of years.

If you’re yet to dive into that first game, it earned a score of nine from us here at GAMINGbible.

Stellar Blade wasn’t initially a game on my radar but it’s ended up being one of my favourite games of 2024 so far,” we said in our review.

“Aside from all of the potentially-polarising outfits, this is an epic action adventure from start to finish that kept me engaged and wanting to come back for more. It doesn’t do a great deal to reinvent the wheel but it doesn’t need to.

“This gorgeous and fun game knows exactly what it is. Stellar Blade is an absolute blast and I’ve not had this much fun in the genre since Devil May Cry 5. If for whatever reason Stellar Blade flew under your radar, it needs to be added to your 2024 to-play list right now.”

Despite all the discussion around Eve’s behind, there’s some really engaging action gameplay here with high-octane, fast-paced fights keeping the player engaged throughout Stellar Blade‘s 40-hour runtime. That’s if you go for full completion. The main story can be seen off in around 20-hours.
