Steam New Free RPG Will Take ‘Countless Hours’ of Your Life

If you’re a fan of tactical RPGs, you may want to download Battlesmiths: Blade and Forge which is delighting players over on Steam.

Developed and published by Ragnarocket, Battlesmiths: Blade and Forge is a free-to-play title that sees you forge powerful gear before entering into PvP and PvE skirmishes.

Your goal is to show that you are “the mightiest battlesmith in the realm”.

“In Battlesmiths, gear isn’t loot — it’s the result of your labour. Weapons and armour are crafted by you and directly affect how your heroes look and fight,” the synopsis reads.

“Craft weapons, armour, and powerful runes. Enchant armour to customise your squad. Customise the appearances of every hero the way you like.”

“Experiment with builds, enhance gear, and create combinations no enemy can predict.”

It’s a pretty straightforward concept that’ll likely appeal to some and not at all to others, but the game is free so there’s not a lot to lose from giving it a go.

You won’t fight alone; players will assemble a squad of heroes, carefully choosing their class, gear, and runic abilities.

Outside of battle, it’s up to you to upgrade buildings and extend facilities in the town you call home.

If your town flourishes, you’ll unlock better crafting options and therefore weapons.

And yes, Battlesmith: Blade and Forge features plenty of boss fights as well as daily quests, events, and seasonal rewards.

Already, the game has garnered ‘Mostly Positive’ reviews on Steam with 74% of players enjoying what’s on offer.

“I’ve played countless hours on mobile, and now one of my favourite games is available on Steam. Finally! Looks and plays great. And for the first time ever I’m able to truly appreciate the sounds. They are so satisfying,” read one review.

“Very nice game, very good. I’m at lower levels, but already deep invested in the story and amazed by the art,” added another.

“Played it on mobile before, happy it’s now on Steam. Great game, and I’m glad they keep adding new content. 10/10,” wrote a happy player.

As I said, the RPG is totally free-to-play so there’s nothing stopping you from giving this a go on PC.

Well, except perhaps a shortage of time or your ever-growing backlog shouting at you going “NO MORE”.

With many players having already racked up dozens of hours despite the title being only a few days old, I can perhaps understand the hesitancy.
