Steam New Free Game is a 9/10 Banger Players Can’t Put Down

A new free game that’s just hit Steam has almost 9/10 positive reviews, and players simply can’t put it down.

Steam Early Access can be a bit controversial for some gamers, but for every title that fails to hit a 1.0 release, there’s another game that was able to complete development by gaining additional funding and feedback from players.

That certainly seems to be the case for The Perfect Tower II, which came out last week on Steam after 5 years of development in Early Access.

It’s a free game described as “a mix between an incremental and a tower defense game with idle elements.”

Basically, you build a town and explore a bunch of different regions to unlock new mini-games and tons of upgrades.

You can choose if you want to play it as an idle game, or you can go for a more active build by focusing on upgrades that suit your playstyle that’ll help you build the perfect tower.

Players Are Loving The Perfect Tower II

It seems the five years of development has paid off for developer Fire Sword Studios, as the game has now hit a 1.0 release and has 89% positive review scores, indicating a “Very Positive” rating.

It looks like the positive reviews are balanced between those who enjoyed the game during early access, and those who have discovered it after the release of the full version.

“Great idle / TD game, a lot of depth and satisfying progression. No reason not to try it for free,” reads one review on The Perfect Tower II’s Steam page.

Another positive review states: “I am a sucker for a good Tower Defense game. The problem I have sometimes is they are repetitive and often have the same ol’ mechanics. I am a sucker for incremental games.. but they can sometimes just be dull time wasters. Watch numbers go up. Prestige. Repeat. This game combines these two things in a GREAT WAY!”

“When you think you’re done, the game will throw more content into your face like there’s no tomorrow. Yeah, it’s pretty simple at its core, BUT, the game has a lot of depth built into each system. I’d say it’s pretty enjoyable so far,” a third positive review reads.

When 9/10 people love it, you can’t go wrong with a game like The Perfect Tower II I suppose. Especially when it’s completely free to play.
