If someone mentions a game as launching in 2027, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that’s years away.
But no, somehow, 2027 is next year and that’s when you can expect Code Exit to be released.
Developed by Phase 8 Studio and set to be published by LINE Games Corporation, Code Exit is a sci-fi action-adventure with a few horror elements to keep you on your toes.
“Enter Pantheon, a futuristic city swallowed by darkness and ruled by a rogue AI,” the synopsis reads.
“Team up with up to four players and survive an adaptive pursuer that learns from every mistake.
“Complete the mission, uncover Minerva’s secrets, and find a way out before the city consumes you.”

Played from a first-person perspective, players will navigate the dark depths of Pantheon, careful to avoid the pursuing AI.
You’ll need to restore critical systems, all whilst Minerva is watching you. The AI will make predictions based on your actions, hoping to stop your next move before you even settle on making it.
As such, players will have to work quickly and well with the rest of their team, as that’s the best way of overcoming Minerva and escaping Pantheon’s never-ending halls.
Minerva will pursue you in the dark, which is where the horror element comes into play.
There are no gruesome monsters here or ghostly spirits that’ll scare you half to death, but it’s still pretty unnerving being pursued by an AI that will send plenty of sentient machines your way.
With that in mind, Code Exit can, at times, feel like a twisted game of hide-and-seek as players seek to avoid passing drones that could spell their end.
A Free Demo Has Landed On PC Ahead Of The Game’s Launch Next Year
Code Exit is playable solo or with up to four friends.
“Every sector is a tactical puzzle under pressure. Search the environment, activate terminals, bypass sealed doors, and use scavenged tools to carve a path through AI Minerva’s security network,” devs tease.
“Progress requires more than running and shooting. Your team will need coordination, communication, and a plan when the facility begins to turn against you.”
When you are detected and break out of stealth, the facility will become overrun with machines sent by Minerva, forcing players to fight back and make a high-speed run for the exit.
Code Exit, as you can likely see, sounds pretty promising, and while it’s only set to come to PC for now, you don’t have to wait until 2027 to try it out.
A free demo is now available to try on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
“This demo offers an exclusive first look at the signature tension and cooperative thrill of CODE EXIT,” read an announcement from devs.
“We are currently pouring all our efforts into the final polish to ensure you can experience the core gameplay perfectly. The time to sharpen your senses and prepare for the unknown threats is drawing near!”
The demo should give you a good idea of the feel of the game’s core mechanics, allowing you to decide whether to set aside some room for Code Exit on your 2027 wishlist.
