And if you’re after something that is almost guaranteed to give you a good time, this latest free offering available during Steam Next Fest is worth a go.
Opus: Prism Peak is an upcoming adventure game where you play as a weary photographer on an adventure with a girl who’s lost her memories. It’s a game that combines Studio Ghibli vibes with photography and puzzle gameplay mechanics.
Judging from screenshots and the trailer, which can be seen on the game’s official Steam page, the graphics look absolutely stunning, and it looks like it’ll be a great experience for those who enjoy slower, calmer experiences.
It’s part of the Opus series, a franchise consisting of 2D space-themed narrative adventure games with light puzzle elements. While the series has traditionally been two-dimensional, Prism Peak will be the first 3D game in the series.
A demo for Opus: Prism Peak is available now on Steam as part of Next Fest, and it’s drummed up a lot of hype due to positive reviews. As of writing, the demo currently has 98% positive ratings.

Some users have stated that Prism Peak doesn’t really tie into the other games in the series, so you won’t need to have an expert knowledge of the previous Opus games before going into this one. You should probably be able to play it all as a standalone experience.
Steam Next Fest runs until Monday, 20 October, 2025, at which point many of these demos will become unavailable.
