Quickly sold out (https://news.instant-gaming.com/en/articles/19366-the-steam-controller-is-already-sold-out) and falling into the hands of resellers, the Steam Controller is currently no longer available for purchase. Valve has therefore decided to implement measures to prevent another chaotic scenario.
The American company has officially announced the implementation of a reservation system. Starting this Friday, May 8, at 7 p.m. (Paris time), users will be able to reserve up to one controller per person. When Valve restocks, an email will be sent to registered customers who wish to purchase the Steam Controller. They will then have 72 hours to confirm their purchase.
Note that those who have already purchased the controller will not be able to access these reservations. To be eligible, you must have a valid Steam account and have made a purchase before April 27, 2026. It will therefore be impossible to create a new account to reserve the device.
