State of Decay 3 was announced back in 2020 and we’ve learned so little about it over the last few years that one might have thought it had been canceled. Back in July 2025, Windows Central reporter Jez Corden said that this was not the case, though it has already been 8 years since the previous installment was released.
Today, State of Decay 3 announces the launch of its Alpha Playtest in a YouTube video over two minutes long. Brant Fitzgerald, co-creator of the franchise, reveals numerous concept art images of the game and shares behind-the-scenes details.
