Stardew Valley: 3 Free Add-Ons If You’re Serious About Getting Organised

Stardew Valley: 3 Free Add-Ons If You’re Serious About Getting Organised

Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone, the beloved indie dev behind cosy hit Stardew Valley is in the midst of working on the game’s 1.7 update alongside his small team.

There’s no word on when exactly this will surface, especially as Barone is also working on his next game, the long-awaited Haunted Chocolatier.

Those playing Stardew Valley on PC though can always benefit from the modding scene, utilising these free creations to infuse the game with new life.

There are plenty of tasks, events, and jobs players need to keep on top of in Stardew Valley, so we’ve compiled three new mods which should help make your life a tad easier.

Farmer’s Notebook Mod

Let’s begin with Farmer’s Notebook by NexusMods user gicantador.

This is described as “an immersive in-game planner” that allows you to track birthdays, festivals, crops, harvests whilst also allowing you to journal, manage tasks, and plan your goals.

If you’re an organised person in real life who loves a good plan and well-kept diary, this one’s definitely for you.

The creator of this mod said it allows you to stay organised without having to tab out to a wiki page; you can manage everything in-game by simply pressing ‘N’.

The notebook is designed to look like it could realistically belong to a Stardew Valley farmer with a leather cover, six coloured bookmark tabs, and decorative stickers.

“The notebook becomes part of your farm’s story rather than floating on top of it,” the creator notes. There’s even a charming animation each time you open the notebook every day.

I heartily recommend heading over to the mod’s listing and reading through the in-depth patch notes for this mod creation because it really does offer everything you could possibly want.

Omni Barn Mod

Omni Barn by NexusMods user Miricancan should solve some of your storage woes.

It’s essentially a new super-sized barn that the creator describes as “enormous” which sounds about right as it can store up to 65 animals.

It even “accommodates animals that would normally be restricted to coops” which is nice to see.

The barn can be obtained by upgrading to a Deluxe Barn at Robin’s Carpenter Shop. “The upgrade costs 90,000g plus additional materials,” the creator notes.

The animal door doesn’t have any opening or closing animations yet but that’s a small insignificance compared to just how useful this mod is going to prove to be.

Birthday Rolodex – Show All The Birthdays

Finally, I’ll bring Birthday Rolodex – Show All The Birthdays to your attention by NexusMods user ichortower.

This birthday tracker essentially accounts for overlapping birthdays which can be a common problem, particularly for those that mod and add additional NPCs.

The standard in-game calendar only shows one birthday whereas Birthday Rolodex – Show All The Birthdays introduces a birthday planner that shows any and all NPCs celebrating on any particular day.

It manages this by showing the relevant NPCs in what the modder calls a “rotating queue”.

“When you mouseover each date, the lineup of NPC images will start automatically rotating. You can also left-click or scroll your mouse wheel to rotate them manually, which will pause the automatic rotation for a time,” the creator notes.

“This mod has no other effects and won’t meaningfully change your gameplay, but I think it makes looking at the calendar a bit nicer.”

Not every mod needs to be a DLC-sized expansion. These offerings make subtle adjustments that have a big impact, especially when combined.
