Something for the Weekend – 13/12/25

I think I’m just about back to normal after staying up far too late for The Game Awards and then not being able to catch up on sleep the day after. How was that for you, though? Did any big game announcements catch your eye?

We’ll be kicking off our own Game of the Year awards in the coming week (and we promise not to force you to sit through advertorials, music numbers and have 100% less Geoff presenting things).

In the News This Week

Obviously The Game Awards and the flurry of announcements lead a bumper crop of news this week, especially when sprinkling some Day of the Devs on top!

Games in Review & Featured Articles

We still had a bunch of reviews to work through this week:

Beyond the scored reviews, we also delved into the Early Access releases of the creature collection roguelike Aethermancer, and the physics-based adventuring of Cloudheim.

And following its show-closing announcement for The Game Awards, Jim pondered why the reaction to Highguard has been so down.

Rounding out the week, What We Played featured Skate Story, Megabonk and watching The Game Awards.

Trailer Park

Watch the new trailer for the Street Fighter movie and then question your life

Exodus new trailer looks Mass Effect-y in a lot of the right ways

Stretchmancer is a squishy, squashy, stretchy puzzle game

Saros has a new story trailer for Housemarque’s Returnal successor

That’s the round up for this week’s round up. Enjoy the weekend, and we’ll catch you for more gaming shenanigans next week!

It sounds like you had an exciting time at The Game Awards! It’s always fun to stay up for big events like that, even if it throws off your schedule a bit. Hope you’re able to catch up on some rest this weekend!
