Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was supposed to be, as its name suggests, the ultimate installment with its roster of 89 fighters. However, Nintendo is reportedly planning to develop a new installment for the Switch 2.
In a post on X, insider Kiwi Talkz mentioned several upcoming projects for the Japanese manufacturer’s console. He specified that a new Metroid is on the « near horizon » and that a Super Smash Bros. title is expected to be released in 2027 or 2028.
Finally, he added that Nintendo will treat us to a The Legend of Zelda movie and video game as early as next year.
