Skyrim: The Forsworn Conspiracy Is A Brand New Expansion Worth Your Time

Skyrim has a brand new expansion available for you to play now, and it definitely sounds worth your time.

One of the best things about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is that outside of the base game, there are plenty of new experiences awaiting you through the game’s official expansions by Bethesda, as well as the many modded campaigns and quests that are added by the community.

These mods are pretty easy to install, and are often quite compatible with each other, meaning that everyone’s playthroughs might end up quite unique.

The Forsworn Conspiracy – Quest Expansion is one such example of a mod that may be worth your time, especially for those characters who haven’t yet set foot in Markarth.

If you remember, The Forsworn Conspiracy is a quest that appears in Markarth, where it has you investigating a conspiracy involving the Forsworn and the Silver-Bloods. It’s quite a memorable moment in the game, especially as the quest is central to Markarth’s overarching narrative.

The new quest expansion by Skyrim modder anbeegod massively extends the potential of this quest, adding “new choices, new roleplaying opportunities, and new epic stories”. There have also been 200 new voiceover lines added too, with two additional quests stretching it out.

Some of these new choices include the possibility of saving Eltrys and his wife from the guards that attack towards the end of the quest, as well as saving Betrid from the Forsworn. You’re also not forced to enter the prison and have the ability to kill or run away from the guards instead.

The expansion even opens up some more interesting situations, such as being able to marry Betrid if you save her and kill Thongvor, allowing you to inherit the Silver-Bloods’ wealth after you wipe them out.

It’s honestly a pretty cool way to round off that quest, and a good way to get some money if you’re a little low on gold.

If you fancy checking out the quest expansion for yourself, you’ll need to install the mod into a save file that hasn’t entered Markarth yet. You also can’t join the Stormcloaks or continue that questline if you kill Thongvor, as he is an essential character for that questline.

However, anbeegod has also stated that you can still save Eltrys and Betrid and go to jail, just like how it works in vanilla. This will allow it so the mod is compatible with Stormcloak playthroughs, and there will still be new epilogue. It’s something to be aware of if your character is currently pursuing a Stormcloak allegiance.
