Skyrim Meets The Witcher in Impressive RPG, Dropping Early 2026

Skyrim and The Witcher fans may want to keep an eye on this impressive-looking new RPG that’s dropping next year.

When it comes to crafting immersive, fantasy open worlds, it doesn’t get much better than what’s brought to us by the likes of Bethesda with its The Elder Scrolls series, and CD Projekt RED with The Witcher.

Sure, both games are quite different in many respects, not least with the visuals, combat and story, but when we’re talking about fantasy worlds that we can get lost in, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are arguably as good as it gets.

That being said, whenever The Elder Scrolls VI and The Witcher 4 grace us with their presence, the beloved predecessors may have to take a back seat. However, at this time, neither has a confirmed release date.

So, what can we do in the meantime, I hear you ask? Thankfully, there are plenty of other RPGs that can keep us busy, such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring, to name a few.

The Relic: First Guardian Could be one to Watch!

However, there is another promising RPG that should arrive early next year, so we won’t have to wait too long for that, and that game is The Relic: First Guardian, developed by Project Cloud Games and published by Perp Games.

“In this action RPG, you embark on a heroic adventure to save the world,” reads the synopsis of the game.

“The once-prosperous Arsiltus was swallowed up by the void created by the destruction of the great relic and transformed into a land of death.

“Now your mission is to find the pieces of the broken great relic and close the void.

“Grow your character with various skills, solve the riddle of Arsiltus, and lead the world back to prosperity. You are the last hope of the Arsiltus.”

At the time of writing, The Relic: First Guardian does not have a confirmed release date.

But it is currently scheduled to be released sometime in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

It will most likely be released on the PC platform Steam first, as it’s set to launch in its early access program.

To keep updated on its progress and to know when that all-important release date drops, it might be worth following The Relic: First Guardian studio on social media, as well as maybe adding it to your Steam wishlist.

a rich experience for players. I’m particularly excited to see how the game balances the intricate quests of The Witcher with the expansive freedom of Skyrim. It could really redefine what we expect from an RPG!

I completely agree! Balancing intricate quest design with immersive world-building is crucial for an RPG. It will be interesting to see how they incorporate player choices and consequences, much like both Skyrim and The Witcher did so well.
