Skyrim Has a Wild Glitch That Lets You See Multiple Endings at Once

It turns out that Skyrim has a weird glitch that allows you to see two endings to the same quest at once.

Bethesda games are known to be quite quirky when it comes to the various bugs and glitches that can occur. Even nearly 14 years after release, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still finding ways to surprise us.

This is the case with one Skyrim quest that is part of the Dark Brotherhood storyline, in which one player has managed to see both outcomes of the Delayed Burial quest despite them being quite different from each other.

In Delayed Burial, the player finds Cicero on the side of a road near a broken-down cart. He says he needs help with repairs so he can transport his mother’s body to a new burial site, and asks you to go to the nearby farm to speak with the landowner for help.

The player can then report Cicero to a guard, or try to convince the farmer to help with repairs. It’s not possible to do both, as reporting Cicero results in him being arrested, while helping him will send him on his merry way and reward you with some gold.

However, one player has demonstrated that it’s possible to do both, and still reap the rewards of the better ending to this quest.

The player first interacts with Cicero, and then talks to the farmer. After this, they use a mind control spider on the farmer, causing him to follow the player. The player then reports Cicero to the guard, and immediately turns around to talk to the farmer to convince him to help him.

This results in Cicero being arrested by the guard, but he also gives the player a reward for convincing the farmer to help him. Cicero is just a bit confused, that’s all.

The player has stated that Cicero thanked him later when meeting him at the Sanctuary, indicating that the game has been tricked into thinking the help ending has been achieved, but various aspects of the report ending are also present.

It’s unknown if this still results in the farmer and his wife being killed later on, presumably by Cicero himself for refusing to help him.

If you’d like to perform this glitch yourself, you’ll need some way of mind-controlling Loreius to get him to follow you. The player uses the Mind Control Spider scroll from the Dragonborn DLC to do this. It essentially makes all enemies or NPCs into allies who follow you for 30 seconds.
