Several Battlefield 6 players on PC modify game files to avoid opponents using controllers

In Battlefield 6, some PC players have found a way to disable crossplay and avoid facing controller users, who are considered to have an advantage due to the broken aim assist.

The debate is an old one: aim assist is supposed to compensate for the lack of precision of analog sticks compared to a mouse, but for many, the one in Battlefield 6 goes too far, giving controller players a clear advantage during games.

The ottr X account has shared a solution: by modifying the PROFSAVE file in the Documents/Battlefield 6/settings/steam folder, you simply add the line “GstGameplay.CrossPlayEnable 0” to disable crossplay and no longer face players using controllers.

The problem is that a huge part of the community plays with a controller, which means that those who disable crossplay will find themselves in lobbies full of bots. It should be noted that DICE is already preparing a 25% nerf to aim assist in a future patch, so it may be best to wait for this update before going and tampering with the game files.
