Several artworks from the cancelled Perfect Dark have been leaked

Although the game was unfortunately shelved for good by Microsoft last July, Perfect Dark is back in the news this week. The MP1st website has shared artworks from the title that was being developed by The Initiative.

These visuals were shared by a former developer at the now-closed studio. We also learn that the title was fully playable, even though production was still far from complete. In addition, internal project documentation refers to a Season 1, which lends some credence to the rumors that it was going to be an episodic game.

In terms of gameplay, Joanna Dark would have benefited from an adrenaline system that would have given her powers such as bullet time to dodge bullets, immediate health recovery, and increased damage resistance. This adrenaline could even have changed the heroine’s appearance.

Finally, the few pieces of artwork allow us to admire the world of Perfect Dark, which is presented as a world of “eco-science fiction”. The locations visited, such as Cairo, would have opted for a futuristic aesthetic with an emphasis on sustainable ecology.
