Ninja Theory showed the first images of Senua during the XBOX Games Showcase. This is the third eentry in the Hellblade franchise, and is set to release on XBOX Series S|X, PS5, and PC next year.
In an article published by Xbox, Dom Matthews, the studio’s director, discussed the game’s ambitions. Senua will take an approach that places greater emphasis on freedom of exploration and puzzles. Combat will also feature an enhanced system.
Matthews also promises richer and more varied mechanics that will meet players’ expectations for action-adventure games. This is also why the game isn’t called Hellblade 3. The goal is to offer a different kind of experience and something new.
Finally, Ninja Theory has confirmed that Project: Mara, a previously announced horror game, has been canceled. The entire studio team is currently working on Senua.
