SEGA may be working on an affordable handheld dedicated to 2D games

Here’s a big rumor about SEGA. The Japanese company may be working on a new, somewhat unique handheld. This information comes from a quote by a company that has worked with the brand before.

According to the report, the device in question is intended to be sold at a low price. It would feature a low-power ARM processor (not x86) and a 5-inch OLED screen. The console’s dimensions would therefore be quite similar to those of the PS Vita, and internal storage capacity would also be very limited.

This device would only run modern 2D games with a pixel art aesthetic. Removable cartridge media is expected to be used for the games. Of course, these details should be taken with a grain of salt. The project may not come to fruition.
