SEGA has revealed a little surprise on the Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel.
A free update will introduce new characters to the popular racing game Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, including:
- Classic Sonic (the base version of the blue hedgehog), available today
- Axel from the upcoming title Crazy Taxi: World Tour in August 2026
- Amigo from the Samba de Amigo series in September 2026
The addition of Axel to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds makes him the first character not yet officially released to join the roster of racers.
In addition, the game will offer other DLC this summer, this time for a fee.
Among them are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on July 29, 2026, as well as Avatar in October 2026.
