Rockstar didn’t make Bully 2 because of a lack of resources

Despite huge critical acclaim upon its release in October 2006, Bully (or Canis Canem Edit) never got a sequel. There have been plenty of rumors about this, but it seems likely that we will have to give up on this project for good.

During an interview with Ryan McCaffrey of IGN at L.A. Comic Con, Dan Houser, co-founder of Rockstar Games, was asked about the lack of a sequel. His answer may seem surprising, as he cited a lack of time and resources.

“I think it was just a bandwidth issue. If you have a creative management team and a management team that are too small, you just can’t do all the projects you want to do.”

It may seem intriguing to think that Rockstar Games, one of the most prestigious studios in the industry, could lack resources. So, while Bully 2 may have been discussed internally, the game is definitely not on the agenda now.
