To celebrate the start of the World Cup, Netflix and Refactor Games released a game called FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition this June 11. The game quickly stood out for its graphics, which were pretty similar to that of the PS2 era.
It ended up being an absolute failure, of course, and the entire team in charge of the project was ultimately laid off. Several now-former developers have spoken out on LinkedIn to state that they recently lost their jobs.
FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition, which is available exclusively to Netflix subscribers, was supposed to grow over time. After this, it’s safe to assume that that the project will be completely abandoned.
