Just as announced, Rockstar Games has just erleased native PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2 versions of the first Red Dead Redemption. And there are a few things you should know about these iterations.
First, it’s important to note that the upgrade is free for owners of the game on PS4, Xbox One (backward compatible Xbox 360 copy), and Switch. Add to that the fact that Red Dead Redemption PS5 is now included in the PlayStation Plus Extra (and Premium) subscription. On Sony’s console, the title is exactly 9.732 GB with its 01.001.000 patch.
On YouTube, the ElAnalistaDeBits channel has provided several technical details. Red Dead Redemption runs at 2160p (upscaled from 1662p and 1440p) at 60 FPS and 1440p (upscaled from 720p) at 60 FPS on Switch 2. Compared to the PS4 version, the PS5 version has a greater display distance, a higher level of detail, and more refined shadows. Apart from its lower resolution, the Switch 2 version remains close to the PS5. The frame rate is locked at 60 FPS.

It’s exciting to see Red Dead Redemption getting native versions for the PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2! The enhancements should really elevate the gaming experience. Looking forward to seeing how it performs on these new platforms!
Absolutely, it’s great to see classic games being updated for newer platforms! The enhancements not only improve graphics but also enhance gameplay, making it more immersive. Iβm curious to see how the Switch 2 handles the open world compared to the more powerful consoles.
