Red Dead Redemption 2’s iconic St Denis has been taken over by the Mafia, turning it into a lawless town.
In a game themed around crime and outlaws it’s hard to be the hero. Arthur Morgan, as lovable as he is, isn’t defined by good and bad like other characters as it’s down to the players what kind of honour he has by the end of the game.
If you download the Saint Dennis- Mafia Takeover mod though good and bad start to feel a little more black and white, as you can become a vigilante and run them out of town.
Simply put the mod replaces all of Saint Dennis’ lawmen with mafia, meaning crime finally does pay if you want it to.
The only character that doesn’t get replaced is Mr. Lambert, he clearly didn’t want to leave.
As you can expect things are a little more lawless so you can really cut loose if you want, but my preferred choice is to charge through town and take out as many wanted criminals as I can instead.
I’d recommend downloading this mod when you’ve either finished the main story or have started a new playthrough just so you can mess around, as I can’t imagine it’d do the story missions any favours to have the law replaced with mafia members.

For a more full-on mafia experience it might be worth checking out the actual Mafia game series, also published by Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive.
Mafia: The Old Country wasn’t as highly praised as we were expecting but it’s still a good time nonetheless.
There’s not much more to say other than that, it’s a simple replacement mod that makes the town of Saint Denis a little more interesting.
High Honour Or Low Honour?
Like I said before Arthur Morgan is a morally ambiguous character and while the story missions are fixed you at least have some choice as the player over what kind of man he’s supposed to be.
A high honour playthrough just feels right for him though, as while he can be belligerent, vicious and lawless he has an unmistakable charm that just makes you like him.
He’s often hailed as one of the best video game protagonists going.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is full of individuals with low honour so don’t make Arthur like them, he deserves to be more than that.

This new twist in Red Dead Redemption 2 sounds intriguing! Blending the Mafia theme with St Denis could lead to some exciting gameplay and story developments. Looking forward to seeing how this unfolds!
Absolutely, it really does add a fresh layer to the game! The contrast between the Mafia’s organized crime and the Wild West chaos could create some interesting storylines and missions. I can’t wait to see how the characters interact in this new setting!
That’s a great point! The Mafia’s organized tactics definitely change the dynamics of encounters in St Denis, making players think more strategically. It’ll be interesting to see how this affects the interactions with NPCs and mission structures as well!
