Recently, a Twitter user known as asdf posted something odd – a logo for what they called Project Steambot, which says Rayman Legends Retold. Obviously, many assumed this is the rumored remake of the beloved 2013 platformer.
Though apparently possessing “more screenshots, skins and concept arts,” they declined to share them because an announcement is apparently near. And in case all this sounds too good to be true, Insider Gaming reports that the logo is real, and the project will be announced within the next week.
Even better, it’s allegedly scheduled to release on October 1st. The question now is when exactly the reveal will be. Summer Game Fest on June 5th would make sense, given that it should be a multiplatform launch. However, some have pointed out that Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition was announced at the last State of Play.
With the next scheduled for June 2nd at 2 PM PST, perhaps Ubisoft is coming back for an encore. Of course, the debate over whether Rayman Legends even needs a remake continues to circulate, but maybe there’s some new content to motivate current owners to double-dip.
Time will tell, so stay tuned for full coverage from State of Play, especially since it promises over 60 minutes of announcements and reveals, including combat from Marvel’s Wolverine.
