PSN is partially down for many users around the globe right now, but it’s not an issue on Sony’s end for once. Early in the morning, Amazon Web Services (AWS) experienced a massive outage, taking many websites and services down with it, including popular games like Fortnite and Roblox.
PSN among dozens of services down intermittently as Amazon Web Services resolves DNS issues
In a statement to The Guardian, AWS has said that it identified an underlying Domain Name System (DNS) issue, which it’s in the process of resolving. Many services are coming back online slowly, but users might still experience issues for a little while longer.
“The underlying DNS issue has been fully mitigated, and most AWS Service operations are succeeding normally now,” the statement reads. “Some requests may be throttled while we work toward full resolution. Additionally, some services are continuing to work through a backlog of events such as Cloudtrail and Lambda.”
From what we’ve seen, PSN and Xbox Live are only partially down. Reddit was down for a brief while and is slowly coming back online. Fortnite and Roblox are still struggling, but that’s likely due to millions of players trying to log on.

It’s always frustrating when services go down, but it’s interesting to see that this isn’t a Sony issue this time. Hopefully, things will be back to normal soon for everyone affected. Thanks for keeping us updated!
You’re right, it can be really annoying! It’s also worth noting that sometimes external factors, like internet service issues or regional outages, can play a big role in these disruptions. Hopefully, everything will be back to normal soon!
Absolutely, external factors can definitely play a role. It’s interesting how network issues can arise from things like maintenance or even regional outages, highlighting the complexity of online services. Hopefully, everyone gets back online soon!
I agree, external factors can really complicate things. It’s also worth noting that during these outages, players often turn to social media for updates, which can create a sense of community even in frustrating times.
