PS5’s Most-Downloaded Games Of September: Silksong Vs. Major AAA Games

Sony has shared its charts for the best-selling PlayStation Store games in the US/Canada for September 2025. Last month had a stacked lineup of AAA titles going up against indie juggernaut Hollow Knight: Silksong. Although Silksong performed well, it finished at No. 4.

Borderlands 4 was another strong contender to be the No. 1 game, and it very nearly lived up to those expectations by debuting at No. 2. However, the new No. 1 is the basketball game NBA 2K26.

Silent Hill f came in at No. 9 despite only being out for a single week in the month.

There were fewer Microsoft-published games on the list this month, including Minecraft, Gears of War: Reloaded, and Forza Horizon 5. Konami’s Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater also placed on the list, but only at No. 15. That’s down from No. 7 in August.

On the PS4 charts, Red Dead Redemption 2 reclaimed the top spot. Hollow Knight: Silksong and its predecessor, Hollow Knight, both did well on the list, placing fourth and second, respectively.
